COMMENTS ON THE CCRC 10 MILER
2011
Great race on Saturday! I’ll definitely be back next year.
Jeff White
I have run the 5k a few times. This was my first time running the 10 miler. It was great! The course is very pretty. I LOVED the church bells! It was a wonderful experience. All of the volunteers were nice and encouraging. I look forward to running again next year.
Jennifer Coleman
I received the shirt today. Appreciate you sending it. I do plan on attending the race next year. I did 16 races this year and this is the one I end my season on. It’s one of my favorite races to run and the trophies are really neat. I plan to make your December race a tradition.
Charlie Millard
I think your race is the best I have been to. Everything was wonderful. I have been telling all my Chattanooga friends about your race. I know I will be back next year.
Curt Zacharias
David, I really enjoy running this race. It is very organized, a unique opportunity to run a 10 mile race, a scenic course, Christmas music playing at the Church, and homemade hot soup when you finish. It is one of the events to look forward to each December. Thanks to you and the Carpet Capital runners for putting on a really nice event. We hope to both make it there next year for the 25th running!
Gary Henderson.
This was my first time running this race and I love the Christmas music from the church . . . it was awesome. Nice race.
Kim Durham
Thanks for putting on the race. I thoroughly enjoyed it, especially the sound of the church bells that was first very faint and then grew louder and louder. It is a great course and barring injuries, I’ll be back next year.
Adri Herman
It was the first time for me doing the CC10 miler. What a great race, loved the course especially the church bells. I hope to be back next year with more friends. Very nice touch to send individual results. The only way I can think to add to it since you put overall finish is it might be nice to also add the number of total finishers. Thank you for putting on a GREAT event.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!! HAD A GREAT TIME!!!!!!!!!!
David Hendrix
You and all the volunteers did an exceptional job of organizing this race. This was my first time running in it, but it
certainly will not be my last. Everything from the start to the finish as well as the food was great. Thanks for taking
the time to put on a great race for all runners to enjoy. See you next year.
Jay L. Hudson
Thank you! Your race was perfect as usual. No complaints whatsoever. Love the new course too.
See you next year.

Once again you guys put on a great run. I must say, it is my favorite one of the year and one I look to include in my schedule for many years to come.
Gina Nowell Chattanooga, TN
We really liked your race, only suggestion is donât change that 10 mile course. It is the best I have ever run!!! We will be back next year and hope to bring our whole team. I have told them all about it. See you next year. Chris Sentell Seymour, TN
Your race was awesome. I am new to the Chattanooga area. Thank you so much. Will there be a place to get a picture for the trophy I won?
Curt Zacharias Chattanooga, TN
I am a beginner and enjoyed the race. The shirts were the best I have gotten. A Big Thanks
Barbara Shadwick Dalton, GA
Unfortunately I will be out of town and will miss the 10 miler this year. It is one of my favorite races that I started running in 1994 when it was sponsored by BASF. The CCRC does a great job putting on this race. Cost is very reasonable, race is well organized, good post race eats, and nice shirts and awards. Wish you good weather on race day and hope to see you in 2011.
Joe Lenahan Roswell, GA
Wonderful race this year. We really enjoyed the course.
Ed Stephens Dallas, GA
Great event as always. I would recommend it to everyone.
David Randolph Rocky Face, GA
Great 5k race. You guys went above and beyond to make everyone happy and to feel at home. My first time to run the event but will definitely not be my last. Class act, great awards, great tee, and fabulous soup and cornbread. FIVE STAR RATING!!!!!!
Don Burkett Mineral Bluff, GA
Really liked the race! Will do it again next year! I too loved the bells! Eve Hall Kennesaw, GA Thanks! Great race again this year. Everything was perfect.
Pat Hagan Chattanooga, TN
Itâs been a number of years since I have participated in a âroadâ race but I ran in your 10 miler this past Saturday. I have nothing but good things to say about the race and organization there of. I was a race day entrant and from that first point of contact to the last at the awards ceremony, it was all well done. Thank you and all your volunteers for your hard work and effort. It showed, it worked and I will not hesitate to recommend your event to others next year.
Sheridan Ames Signal Mountain, TN
” Thanks” to the Carpet Capital Running Club; support groups and runners that make your race one of the best year after year.
Hoyt Brown Murphy, NC
Well run race – thanks to you and all the volunteers. I will be passing the word to my running friends in Chattanooga / Dalton about the race next year.
Scott Ptak Dalton, GA
Please tell all that were involved with Saturday’s race what a great job they did putting on a first class event! Everyone did a great job. The volunteers were friendly and helpful, the course was not only accurate but well marked with the splits called out. Most races don’t have any of these attributes. Too, kudos to the ladies who helped with the goodies and made the delicious soup and cornbread. That, along with the fresh fruit, bagels and hot coffee made great post race snacks. We really appreciate your efforts and will spread the word about how well organized your race is. Also, please give a big thank you to all the volunteers out on the course, including the police dept and EMT people. We plan to come back next year. Keep up the good work!

“After all these years I finally got to do your race and will definitely keep it on my calendar. It’s a first class event with great course, organization, post race event and last but not least, great volunteers.”

“I enjoyed my first Carpet Capital 10-Miler a few weeks ago, thanks for putting on a great race. As a first time Carpet Capital 10-Miler, I appreciate the organization, the course, and the stunning photos. It made the 2+ hour trip from Atlanta well worth the drive. I’ll spread the word about the Carpet Capital 10-Miler and next year try to bring a few running buddies. Keep up the good work.”
Iilonga Thandiwe
“I was very impressed with all the preparation you had done. You had people posted at each well marked mile who called out our times. You got the results posted on line very quickly and even sent individual race results which I really appreciated. It was nice to have a warm place both before and after the race. The food was plentiful and delicious and water, Gatorade and coffee available. Intersections were well monitored to insure we stayed on the proper course. Your willingness to submit the paperwork for Georgia state age group records. Thanks for all of the above.”
Clarence Hartley
“I was very impressed by both the quality of the race and the quantity of volunteers at every point in the race and by the facilities, too. T-shirt looks good and is comfortable. I see why runners from all over run this race. See you again next year. Thank you.”

“I have never provided any feedback for any of my races, but I wanted to let you know that this was my second Carpet Capital 10-miler and I couldn’t have been happier with the changes to the route. I did this race two years ago, and it was fine. There just seemed like a lot of traffic and trucks. But the route Saturday was awesome. You guys did a great job. After skipping this race last year, I hope not to miss it again for awhile. Thanks,”
Chris Stephens

“Thanks for a outstanding race Saturday. If runners miss your club’s race, they are making a mistake. I have enjoyed the support and the course through the northeast Georgia roads. The race shirt should be selected as the Run & See Georgia shirt of the year. Speaking for the Murphy, NC runners, we enjoyed race day at the CCRC 10 miler.”

“I really enjoyed the race — had been wanting to run it for quite a few years and finally made it. I was operating on very little sleep the two previous nights but even so I’ve really glad I made the drive up from Athens yesterday morning. Beautiful rural course, not easy but just tough enough to be fun. I’ll be back!”

“…Two years ago I found a fun way to break up the trip: The Carpet Capitol 10-Miler in Dalton, GA. Dalton is halfway home, about thirty miles south of Chattanooga. It turned into a great small world story when I found that David Leatherman, the race director, had graduated from Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais…” read entire article here
